Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Marietta, GA – $33‑$40 per hour plus benefits. Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday, full time. 7‑hr shift, 1‑hr lunch. Job Overview We are looking for a motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The mechanic will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all types of diesel engines, pumps, vehicles, and equipment within our company fleet. Responsibilities Operate on various types of vehicles and tools, including Dodge 5500, GMC 5500, Hino, and Ford trucks up to 26,000 lbs, as well as small engines. Perform major and minor repairs on vehicles, trailers, power‑operated equipment, and hand tools. Repair and replace defective parts, components, or systems. Maintain accurate computer and/or paper records of time and parts used on specific work orders. Respond to emergency breakdowns. Work with vehicle/equipment operators to understand and resolve maintenance and operation concerns. Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components. Assist with DOT maintenance and repair procedures; adhere to DOT fleet standards. Qualifications A two‑year degree in heavy truck mechanics at the vocational level or at least 3 years of experience as a commercial diesel mechanic. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Knowledge and experience with hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drives trains, and various hand tools. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license and access to transportation. Ability to pass a DOT medical exam. Ability to pass a drug test and background check. CDL driver’s license a plus.
