This Jobot Job is hosted by: Craig Rosecrans Salary: $80,000 - $130,000 per year A bit about us: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Compliance Manager to join our Investment team for a fast growing real estate private equity firm. This role involves overseeing our company's compliance program, ensuring all departments adhere to legal standards and in-house policies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the industry's laws and regulations. Why join us? Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage the company's compliance program across all departments. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Review and interpret Land Use Restriction Agreements (LURAs), Regulatory Agreements, and Extended Use Agreements. Track affordability periods, extended use periods, Qualified Compliance (QC) and Post-Compliance (PC) eligibility timelines. Maintain a portfolio-wide regulatory tracker outlining compliance periods and restriction expirations. Identify properties approaching regulatory expiration or PC eligibility and communicate timelines to leadership. Regularly review company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk. Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance within the company. Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies. Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously. Revise procedures, reports, etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues. Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control. Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Compliance Manager, Compliance Officer, or similar role. Experience with the following certifications or equivalent work experience: HCCP, SCHM, NPCC, TaCCs. Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping. A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality. Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities. An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong leadership and team management abilities. High ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with confidential information. Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) certification is a plus.
