Loss Prevention Officer (Part Time)

Omni Houston Hotel, located in the Uptown Post Oak/Galleria area of Houston, is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer to ensure the safety and security of guests and employees. Position Overview The Loss Prevention Officer enforces hotel policies and records assigned tasks. The officer prepares incident and accident reports accurately in the format specified by the Loss Prevention Manager. Key Responsibilities Perform Safety/Loss Prevention patrols of: All restaurants All public areas Banquet and conference level All guest floors Executive offices Service areas (heart of the house) Parking garages Hotel exteriors Visit all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required Respond immediately to emergency incidents and security requests; control the situation until proper authorities arrive Ensure maximum guest, associate, and hotel safety and security at all times Act courteously, tactfully, and helpfully while enforcing hotel policies and procedures Report in writing on pertinent activities during each shift before leaving the hotel. Provide oral reports and emergency notifications as directed Perform duties as assigned by a supervisor and respond to directions from any Executive Committee member or manager Inspect associates arriving or departing the hotel; collect all package passes and inspect parcels taken from the hotel Monitor closed‑circuit television and alarm systems and oversee security of the receiving area Confiscate all unauthorized items and notify the Director of Loss Prevention, Director of Engineering, Human Resources director, and the appropriate department head Control entry into the "Heart of the House" and escort deliveries to guest rooms Control the hotel key system Administer the shipping and receiving of packages and parcels for the hotel and guests Administer the hotel's Lost and Found program Control, distribute, and maintain hand‑held radios Perform all necessary administrative requirements of the Loss Prevention Department, including writing reports, maintaining files, processing work orders, ordering supplies, schedules, and posting bulletin board information Safeguard the hotel from intruders, trespassers, and others not conducting legitimate business on the premises Complete other tasks as assigned by management Qualifications Previous security experience preferred Must be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift Must be detail oriented Superior customer service skills required Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and general computer skills Must be able to work overnight nights, PM shifts, weekends, and holidays Must become TABC, CPR, and basic first‑aid certified Flexible scheduling including day, evening, weekends, and holidays Equal Employment Opportunity Omni Hotels & Resorts is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
