Experienced Dental Assistant | $25-$32/hr | Growth Opportunity

Cozy Cabin Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant who is organized, proactive, clinically strong, and interested in growing into greater responsibility and leadership over time.

We are a growing, privately owned general dental practice in West Jordan, Utah. We are a small, family-run office that genuinely cares about our patients and our team. We work hard, move quickly, use modern dental technology, and value people who take initiative, communicate directly, and take pride in doing things well.

This is not an entry-level dental assisting position. We are looking for someone who can work independently, anticipate what needs to happen next, follow tasks through to completion, and help keep a busy clinical schedule running smoothly.

For the right person, there is significant opportunity to grow into additional clinical operations, training, leadership, and eventually broader practice-management responsibilities.

SCHEDULE

Full-time, approximately 32-40 hours per week.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 7:30 AM-5:30 PM
Friday: 7:30 AM-3:30 PM

Occasional Monday hours, generally 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, may be available or required for patient care, training, projects, or catching up on office systems as approved/required.

We occasionally adjust our schedule for holidays, continuing education, vacations, or long weekends.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Have 2-5+ years of dental assisting experience, with 5+ years strongly preferred

We strongly value candidates who understand that communicating a problem is not the same as resolving a problem. We are looking for someone who identifies issues early, determines the next step, and follows through until the issue is actually resolved.

CLINICAL AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

Experience with many of the following is preferred:

• General dentistry chairside assisting
• Crown and bridge procedures
• Temporary crowns
• Implant dentistry
• Digital X-rays
• Panoramic imaging
• CBCT / 3D dental imaging
• Intraoral photography
• Intraoral digital scanning
• Digital denture scanning and workflows
• Impressions and dental models
• Clear aligner treatment
• HealthyStart or pediatric airway appliances
• Adult oral sleep appliances
• Dental laboratory communication
• Sterilization and infection control
• HIPAA and OSHA compliance
• Digital treatment planning
• Open Dental or similar dental practice-management software
• Dental Intelligence or similar dental software

Experience with Open Dental, Dental Intelligence, digital scanners, CBCT, clear aligners, implant cases, removable prosthetics, sleep appliances, or advanced dental technology is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities may include:

• Chairside assisting for general dentistry
• Preparing rooms and clinical setups for procedures
• Preparing operatories and supplies for the following day
• Reviewing upcoming schedules for clinical readiness
• Pulling and reviewing upcoming cases in advance
• Tracking crowns, bridges, dentures, implants, aligners, appliances, and other lab cases
• Confirming that lab cases are received, complete, and correct before patient appointments
• Communicating with dental laboratories regarding missing or delayed cases
• Following unresolved issues until they are completed
• Monitoring clinical inventory and supplies
• Maintaining organized sterilization and instrument systems
• Taking digital X-rays, panoramic images, CBCT scans, and intraoral photographs
• Completing digital scans and impressions
• Fabricating temporary crowns
• Recording clinical information and procedures in real time
• Entering treatment plans and completed procedures
• Reviewing medical histories and chief complaints
• Breaking treatment plans into appropriate appointments
• Scheduling next visits and recall appointments when needed
• Greeting and seating patients
• Checking patients in and out when needed
• Explaining dental procedures and post-operative instructions
• Discussing basic treatment costs when front-office staff are unavailable
• Assisting hygiene when needed
• Supporting communication between the clinical and front-office teams
• Following and helping improve office systems and protocols
• Helping train and support other dental assistants
• Identifying workflow problems and recommending solutions
• Completing additional clinical or administrative projects as needed

Leadership is not automatically assigned based on years of experience. Increased responsibility is earned through reliability, initiative, judgment, organization, communication, and the ability to help the team succeed.

COMPENSATION

$25.00-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience, clinical skill, leadership ability, and overall fit.

Top-of-range compensation is reserved for candidates who demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge, strong organizational and systems skills, leadership potential, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
