Details Med/Surg Tele unit caring for adult patients with a variety of conditions under the Family Medicine service Includes a geriatric population and 0-10 Department of Corrections patients housed in a locked wing with double-door access Staff are always accompanied by a DOC officer while assisting DOC patients Rotating Day (0700-1930) and Night (1900-0730) 3x12-hour shifts Every other weekend rotation with holiday coverage as needed Floating required as needed Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active WI or compact RN license BLS certification (AHA only) Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted to Experience starting and maintaining IVs required Epic EMR experience required, within the past 12 months preferred Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting Skilled in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management Additional Information Provide med/surg and telemetry nursing care including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias Care may include feeding tube management, wound care, and respiratory support such as oxygen administration Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked Wisconsin's 1 hospital Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted First-time travelers will be considered if they have five years of previous inpatient med/surg experience Experience with previous law enforcement patient care is preferred American Traveler Job ID P-749946.
