Rural King is seeking a Firearms Sales Associate to provide knowledgeable customer service while assisting with firearms, ammunition, accessories, and related products.

This role requires firearms product knowledge, sales and customer service skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of applicable firearms laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet customers and identify their needs, preferences, and budget.
• Provide knowledgeable, unbiased product information and recommendations.
• Assist customers with firearms, ammunition, accessories, and related products.
• Process sales, special orders, returns, payments, and required documentation accurately through the POS system.
• Support sales through promotions, upselling, cross-selling, RK Firearms Plus Protection Plan, and loyalty program awareness.

Firearms Compliance & Safety

• Follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to firearms sales and transfers.
• Follow the Firearms SOP and complete required compliance training.
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidential customer information.
• Promote safe and responsible practices and escalate compliance concerns to leadership.

Merchandising & Store Support

• Maintain clean, organized, accurately priced, and visually appealing firearms displays.
• Support inventory accuracy, signage, zoning, and sales floor presentation.
• Stay current on firearms products, industry developments, and company training.
• Participate in cross-training and perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous firearms sales, sporting goods, retail, or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of firearms, ammunition, accessories, safety practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Strong customer service, communication, and active listening skills.
• Ability to accurately complete transactions, documentation, and other detail-oriented tasks.
• Ability to use POS systems, computers, and retail technology.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to complete required firearms compliance training.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use ladders and pallet jacks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and associates.
• Close visual awareness required for product and transaction-related tasks.

Compensation

Exact compensation determined by factors such as geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also receive overtime pay in compliance with applicable laws.
