Behavioral Healthcare Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to work in the behavioral healthcare field. This position is part-time with every other weekend rotation. Part-time would be two 12-hour shifts per week. The hours for this position are: 6:30 pm - 7:00 am (Two 12-hour shifts per week) OR 6:30pm - 11:00 pm (4-5 shifts per week) Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for 42 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues. Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Job Duties

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT's work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Job duties include:

• Monitors unit milieu and helps to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
• Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule
• Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety
• Works collaboratively with unit nursing staff on patient care activities
• Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques

Qualifications

Mental Health Tech Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a psychology-related field is highly preferred High School Diploma or GED required.
