WIC Vendor Outreach Specialist

Job Summary WIC Vendor Outreach Specialist – Education Specialist III – Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) – Austin, TX. Responsibilities Conduct onsite and/or face‑to‑face training for WIC vendors, perform vendor onsite evaluations, and provide technical assistance as needed. (20%) Handle outreach and communication activities including vendor complaints, general program inquiries, marketing material preparation and distribution, correspondence, technical guidance documentation, online training assistance, and other related customer service items from internal and external stakeholders. (20%) Collect information in an application, prepare and disseminate vendor contracts/agreements, perform related data entry and correspondence. (15%) Prepare reports of findings and recommendations, and prepare Corrective Action Plans. (10%) Coordinate and implement the vendor liaison program in collaboration with local agency staff, and conduct shopping experiences. (10%) Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and analyzing vendor training curricula and training aids. (10%) Complete participant access analysis, collect and track data, and collaborate with staff on special projects, presentations, or reports. (5%) Assist with updating and implementing WIC vendor policies, branch and unit procedures, and analyze policies based on changing business needs. Develop/update procedure manual. (5%) Perform other duties as assigned, including participation in disaster response and/or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or locations. (5%) Qualifications Minimum 2 years of customer service experience. Minimum 2 years of experience training adults. Minimum 2 years of experience handling, processing, or entering data. Must be willing and able to travel up to 50%. Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) required or must obtain certification within 12 months of employment. Preferred Associate’s Degree or higher. Location & Working Conditions Austin, TX – 701 W 51st St. Day shift, full time, non‑exempt. Up to 50% travel; 25% telework permissible. Requires physical presence in the Austin office at least two days per week. Compensation Monthly salary range: $4,523.16 – $7,253.83, TEXAS‑B‑21 salary group.
