Including:$250 Quarterly tool allowance, that's $1,000 extra per year!Low-cost Medical, Dental, and Vision for Family Coverage.Paid vacation time, sick, and personal time.Employee uniforms and boots provided.401K with FANTASTIC company match!Strong Safety Culture, newer equipment, and excellent local leadership and great place to work!BASIC PURPOSETo provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.Other duties as assigned by manager.QUALIFICATIONS:Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.Must furnish own personal hand tools.Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).High school diploma or equivalent required.Must possess a valid driver's license.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSValid Class A CDL license and DOT certificationExperience with Maximo fleet maintenance systemPrevious mechanical and PM program experienceExperience using fleet maintenance softwareWelding abilityWORK ENVIRONMENTOnsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.Ability to work flexible schedule.Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.Physical RequirementsJOB REQUIRES WORKER TO:SIT OccasionallySTAND FrequentlyWALK FrequentlyDRIVE Occasionally (Test drives equipment)TO LIFT:1-10 lbs (Sedentary) Continuously10-20 lbs (Light) Frequently25-50 lbs (Medium) Occasionally50-100 lbs (Heavy) OccasionallyOver 100 lbs (Very Heavy) May lift up to 120-150 pounds (2 man lift)TO CARRY:1-10 lbs (Sedentary) Frequently10-20 lbs (Light) Frequently25-50 lbs (Medium) Occasionally50-100 lbs (Heavy) OccasionallyOver 100 lbs (Very Heavy) Occasionally1 (Push/Pull: Hand truck, gate, straps, metal ramp, truck door, dolly, boxes, truck gear shift)2 (Climb/Balance: In/Out Truck/Trailer to cab. The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $24.
