Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding summer role supporting students in an enriching Extended School Year (ESY) program. An opportunity awaits for a dedicated, fully onboarded paraprofessional at a vibrant upper elementary setting. You’ll engage with students who thrive on extra guidance—either one-on-one or within general special education classrooms—during morning hours that promise work-life balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in school settings (recent references required)
- Positive, professional references are essential prior to contract offer
- PMT (Physical and Psychological Management Training) certification is a significant asset; otherwise, willingness to complete mandatory onboarding sessions
- Prepared to undergo onboarding training covering DCF requirements, prevention of sexual misconduct, and trafficking awareness
- Enthusiastic, flexible, and ready to contribute positively to student learning and the school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instructional and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with lead teachers and ESY coordinators to ensure activities and interventions match program goals
- Uphold a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for every child
- Assist with the implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications where needed
- Participate enthusiastically in both orientation and ongoing training sessions
Program Details:
- Orientation on July 6, followed by ESY running July 7-30
- Position is Monday through Thursday, 8:00-11:45am—no afternoons or weekends
- Location is a well-resourced upper elementary school
