Job Details

• Position: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Rockford, Illinois (61108)
• Setting: Acute care Emergency Department / Emergency Room
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift Time: Day/Evening coverage, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Charting System: EPIC
• Call: No call required
• Floating: Limited float support for helping hands as needed
• Orientation: 2 shifts of 12 hours

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department, ER, or acute care nursing experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• TNCC or TNS preferred
• Ability to care for patients with minor to high-acuity emergency conditions
• Experience with trauma nursing, burn care, stroke care, and medically complex patients highly valued
• Strong critical thinking skills in a fast-paced emergency medicine environment
• Proficiency with EPIC or willingness to quickly adapt to the charting system
• Professional scrubs required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a busy Emergency Department
• Assess, monitor, and respond to patients with a wide range of emergency and urgent conditions
• Support care for trauma, burn, stroke, geriatric, and pediatric patients as needed
• Administer and monitor common ER medications and drips
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, techs, and respiratory therapy staff to ensure safe patient care
• Prioritize patient flow and assist with rapid evaluation needs in a high-volume setting
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
• Follow department protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices
• Deliver compassionate care while helping the team respond to changing patient volumes and acuity
