About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required License: Valid compact or state nursing license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, NIHSS preferred, OCN preferred Must-Have: Oncology experience preferred but not required EPIC experience required Previous charge experience preferred Skills: IV starts, telemetry, tracheostomy management Description: Provide care to adult and geriatric patients with head and neck cancers and neuro-oncology diagnoses. Manage mixed acuity patients in the medical-surgical/telemetry unit. Responsibilities include administration of chemotherapy, BiPAP/CPAP management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and tracheostomy care. Float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity as required. Participate in interdisciplinary support with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services among others. Focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety. Self-scheduling requests will be considered before finalizing the schedule. Orientation consists of on-unit training with a preceptor.
