Associate Attorney

Our firm is partnering with a Louisiana-based law firm to hire an Associate Attorney to support an associate attorney to the vacancy that spans support of the firm foreclosure, title and litigation practice . This role is a shift from a purely document-driven position to a litigation-focused opportunity with active courtroom involvement and ownership of contested matters. The attorney will handle Louisiana foreclosure proceedings, including executory process, while also managing litigation matters such as hearings, contested filings, and emergency motions . This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on litigation experience while continuing to build depth in title analysis and creditor-side representation . This role is ideal for an attorney who is eager to take on responsibility, appear in court, and independently manage cases in a fast-paced but structured practice. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of foreclosure and title-related litigation matters from initiation through resolution Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and petitions, including those related to executory process Appear in court for hearings, status conferences, and trials Handle contested matters , including defensive filings and escalated disputes Respond to and manage emergency matters , including injunctions and time-sensitive filings Review title reports and identify issues impacting foreclosure or litigation strategy Oversee title curative actions and integrate findings into active litigation cases Ensure procedural compliance across all filings and court requirements Communicate with clients and collaborate with internal legal and operations teams Independently manage deadlines, workflow, and case progression with minimal oversight Requirements 1–5 years of legal experience, preferably with some litigation exposure Experience or familiarity with foreclosure, executory process, title, or creditor-side work Strong legal writing and analytical skills Ability and willingness to appear in court and handle hearings independently Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and move cases forward without close supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial litigation, foreclosure litigation, bankruptcy, or creditor rights Exposure to title review and resolving title defects within litigation Comfort handling contested cases and trials Experience in or willingness to learn federal court procedures Ideal Candidate Self-starter who can independently manage a caseload and follow matters through to completion Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills Comfortable in a litigation environment , including court appearances and opposing counsel interaction Responsive and able to act quickly on urgent or escalated matters Strong writer who can efficiently draft motions and arguments (often involving recurring legal issues) Coachable and eager to learn, with the ability to quickly apply feedback Motivated, professional, and interested in growing within a litigation-focused foreclosure and title practice #J-18808-Ljbffr
