Warehouse AssociateLocation: Birmingham, ALJob Type: Full-time, HourlyReports To: PresidentSchedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PMJob Description:The Warehouse Associate coordinates with the President to organize and monitor the shipping, receiving, storage and distribution of all company products ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so orders can be filled in an effective and efficient manner to satisfy customer and company requirements. In addition, this position is also responsible for maintaining day-to-day cleaning of the warehouse and the warehouse grounds to ensure processing quality standards are consistent with corporate objectives and are in full compliance with all company requirements.Key Responsibilities:Warehouse and Grounds:Familiar with products and can answer commonly asked questionsAlways maintains the warehouse and the warehouse grounds in accordance with the established Physical Plant and Grounds SOPPicks up the trash on the grounds and in parking lot dailyAssures the warehouse is properly cleaned daily in accordance with established SOP. This includes having boxes broken down and placed in trash receptacle daily, sweeping the entire warehouse daily, as well as weekly vacuuming under all racks and shelvingEnsures products are stored properly and complies with established Company standard operating proceduresHandles products in a careful and safe manner; conscious of quality and eliminating damageReceives and processes all defective, returned and refused products in accordance with established Company standard operating proceduresReports defective products or questionable conditions to the Warehouse SupervisorInventory:Inspects interior of delivery trucks for rodents/ pests or damage to product during shippingMonitors loading and unloading of all products into the warehouse areaEnsures purchase orders match sales ordersUnpacks, examines and transports incoming shipments; records shortages and damaged products; works with the appropriate party to rectify shortages and damagesEnsures products are staged for counting and inspectionMaintains the inventory on a FIFO basisPerforms daily counting of physical inventory in warehouseOperates forklift, pallet jack, hand trucks and other equipment to convey, move or hoist materialsOrders adequate shipping materials and supplies as neededAlters the President when products are about to be out of stock or expiringFilling Orders:Verify product count and description matches customer orderPrepare customer orders by assembling, packing, protecting and labeling shipmentResponsible for creating shipping labels and making arrangements for pickup by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, including international shipments; ensure all documentation is in place and forward to client as neededDeliver and pickup items from the post office as neededKey Requirements:1-3 years in a warehouse and or shipping and receiving environmentFamiliar with Fork lift and pallet jack operationsCritical thinker with excellent analytical skills and strong problem-solving ability who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrives in a fast moving, hands-on environmentHigh School Diploma or equivalentMicrosoft Suite proficiencyExperience with CRM applicationsExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listeningHigh energy level, positive, and enthusiasticThe employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
