Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift EEG Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a short-term acute care facility supporting epilepsy monitoring and critical care patients.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting within an EEG department
• Case types include Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, sEEG, Neurotelemetry, Ictal SPECT, routine EEG, trauma, and critical care
• Team may support adult patients at an affiliated hospital and MLD unit as needed
• Night shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Call coverage required
• Floating to an affiliate hospital nearby is required for all travelers
• Uses Cerner for charting

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an EEG Technologist
• ABRET, BLS, and R.EEG T. certifications required
• CLTM certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Experience with electrode placement, long term/video monitoring, sleep and sleep deprived EEG, and portable recording
• Preferred experience with ambulatory EEG, EMG, evoked potentials (auditory, motor, somatosensory, visual), and collodion/glue EEG hook-up
• Preferred experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Level I or II Trauma settings
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform EEG hookups, routines, and monitoring across pediatric and adult patient populations
• May assist with EMG/nerve conduction studies and evoked potential testing
• Check, operate, and calibrate EEG equipment according to standard procedure
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted if all other requirements are met
• Local candidates accepted
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• One pre-approved time-off request allowed per contract
• Prior IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers with 12 months of accrued IU Health travel employment must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility
