Rubber Chemist

We are a growing Aerospace manufacturer located in Southern California that is in the process of developing new rubber compounds for aerospace applications. Salary $120,000 - $170,000 per year Benefits Employee Health Benefits Vacation Holiday Generous Bonus Program Responsibilities Develop and optimize rubber compounds using a variety of materials to meet specific performance criteria. Conduct various tests and evaluations on rubber materials to assess their physical and chemical properties. Work closely with the production team to ensure the effective implementation of rubber compounds in manufacturing processes. Oversee the extrusion process and provide technical guidance to optimize efficiency and quality. Identify and resolve technical issues related to rubber materials and processes. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends and advancements in rubber chemistry to foster innovation. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure the successful development and launch of new products. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field. A Master's Degree or PhD will be highly regarded. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the engineering industry. Extensive knowledge and experience in rubber chemistry, including the development and optimization of rubber compounds and formulations. Proficiency in the extrusion process and familiarity with related equipment. Strong experience in mixing and formulating rubber materials. Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to rubber materials and processes.
