Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Pending license accepted, but quick starts preferred Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - First-timers not accepted - Weekend requirement: Yes, every other weekend - Floating required between like units Description: Local travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility will not be eligible for a travel contract. This position is for a Pediatric Registered Nurse. Shifts will be three 12-hour days. The minimum experience required is one year. Weekend availability is necessary, with every other weekend required. Certifications required include BLS and PALS. On-call duties are not required. The traveler will need to float between like units, specifically Post Partum and Special Care Nursery. A block schedule is not open to accommodation. All requests for time off must be included with submissions. The Pediatric Unit handles various conditions, including pediatric asthma, bronchiolitis, other upper respiratory infections, suicidal ideation, other psychiatric issues, post-surgical care, failure to thrive, jaundice, and non-accidental trauma. The unit will also encounter post-partum cases, including both vaginal and C-section deliveries. Staffing and scheduling will have a patient ratio of three patients per nurse. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Special equipment used includes Vapotherm High Flow. References are required from two individuals covering the last year of work experience.
