Housekeeper

THRYVE of Crestwood is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position performs routine housekeeping duties in accordance with facility policies, infection prevention standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, hallways, bathrooms, dining areas, and other assigned areas.

• Perform routine dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing.

• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and areas according to established infection control procedures.

• Follow established daily and weekly housekeeping schedules and procedures.

• Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and other housekeeping needs.

• Maintain housekeeping supplies in an organized manner and notify the supervisor when supplies are low.

• Safely operate housekeeping equipment and properly use cleaning products.

• Assist with maintaining clean and organized housekeeping areas and storage rooms.

• Follow all OSHA, infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures.

• Maintain respectful and professional interactions with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.

• Report maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

• Assist with emergency situations and resident evacuation procedures as directed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Director.

• Previous housekeeping, healthcare, nursing home, hotel, or institutional cleaning experience preferred but not required.

• Experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility is a plus.

• Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures preferred.

• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Must be dependable, responsible, and detail-oriented.

• Must demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.

• Must maintain confidentiality and treat residents with dignity and respect.

• Must be able to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities efficiently.

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift as required.

• Must be able to lift and carry housekeeping supplies and equipment.

• Must be able to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment.

• Must be able to safely operate cleaning equipment.

• Must be able to work in environments involving exposure to cleaning products while following appropriate safety procedures.

• May be required to assist with the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
