The Production Associate (within the Packaging Dept.) is responsible for the production department's daily operations related to packaging bulk flower and pre-rolls to complete as finished goods. The Production Associate (PA) will work within a team to ensure product packaging KPI's are met under the direction of the production leadership and reports to the Production Manager.Core Tasks and Responsibilities -Package accurately, by weight, all flower products offered by Lazy River Products (LRP)Accurate use of scales and balances to ensure the weight of products meet regulatory and LRP SOP requirements.Apply labels to product packaging accurately and neatly per LRP SOPActively engage in sanitation practices and ensure that tools, equipment, workstations, and work rooms maintain organization, and are regularly cleanedMaintain department logs, forms, and records as instructed with clear and legible writingAbility to learn complex tasks, processes, and develop professionally within the department's operational proceduresPerform quality control for products and product labels (information and proper application)Maintain professionalism and productive relationships within the department and company regardless of opinions, challenges, or conflict. Ability to raise suggestions, concerns, or constructive feedback in a professional mannerAbility to follow and execute directives and/or directions provided by the department leadership or company leadershipWork in an efficient and productive manner, supporting colleagues, meeting or exceeding KPI's, and proactively addressing challenges as they ariseWear LRP uniform and PPE, practice good hygiene, and follow all safe handling requirements while in production or handling productsAssist colleagues and leadership with department duties and tasks throughout the dayAssist with inventory audits for both products and consumables and communicate with leadership as supplies are utilized or running low requiring a re-order or re-stockPerform duties and operate tools and equipment proficiently and safely. Employees must ensure safe execution or procedures and adherence to all safety policy, LRP SOP's, state, and federal safety regulationsThe PA may be assigned additional duties, tasks, or asked to work within adjacent departments to assist with overall production needsEducation and Experience –High School Diploma, GED or equivalent requiredInventory or manufacturing experience preferredPrevious Massachusetts cannabis industry, production experience preferredProficient with Windows OS, Office Suit applications (Office, Word, Excel, etc.)Ability to reliably perform standard mathematical equations pertaining to quantity, weights, and measuresSkills -Ability to demonstrate integrity, accountability, and collaborationProfessional demeanor and integrity, positive, coachable attitude with a desire to learn the process, regardless of experienceAdaptability to changes in operational priorities, policy or procedures and accountability in your actionsAbility to maintain progress towards immediate goals while appropriately prioritizing concurrent or future tasks and highly collaborative with colleagues to achieve our shared goalsStrong ability to maintain organization, with proficient written and verbal communicationDemonstrate the ability to recognize challenges or problems and to provide thoughtful, proactive solutionsSwiftly build, package, and label products with precision and accuracy, by hand or with mechanical assistancePhysical Requirement/Work Environment –Manufacturing work environment with occupational exposure to loud machinery, bright lights, airborne particulate, or other production hazards. Must be able to wear ear, eye, and respiratory protection as a precaution to these possible risks.Production area is a limited access and clean environment, and must be able to properly wear provided uniform, or approved garments, closed toed shoes, hair net(s), disposable gloves, and other personal protective equipment (PPE).Production requires tactile fine motor skills with persistent use of fingers, hands, wrists, and arms to build and package materials throughout the duration of the scheduled shift.Mobility requirements may include traveling between rooms and departments, sitting, standing or otherwise positioned at a workstation, and accessing materials and supplies which may require squatting, lifting, or reaching high and low places.Additional Requirements –Must be 21 years of age or older and comply with all legal or company regulation requirements for working in the industry.Ability to pass a formal background check per Massachusetts regulatory requirement for agent registration.Ability to work 7:45 am - 4:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch weekdays, weekends, and holidays if necessary for a total of 40hrs/week.Reliable transportation.Job Information:Title: Production Associate (flower packaging)Industry: Adult-Use Cannabis (MA)Pay Rate: $18.00/hour Location: Dracut, MAStatus: Full-timePay Type: HourlyPay Status: Non-exemptSchedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm w/30-min unpaid breakTotal of 40 hours/weekCommitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:Lazy River Products is an at-will, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer who is committed to providing an inclusive and equitable work environment free from discrimination.
