Quality Control Supervisor - FMCG

About the Role Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Control Supervisor to ensure the highest standards of product quality for their FMCG operations in Welkom. You will lead a team of quality control technicians, implement rigorous testing protocols, and maintain compliance with all relevant industry regulations and company standards. This role is critical in safeguarding brand reputation and consumer trust by ensuring that all products meet stringent quality benchmarks before reaching the market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage and motivate a technical team effectively within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily quality control operations, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final product testing. Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Train, guide, and mentor quality control technicians, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and safety guidelines. Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions to address any deviations or non-conformities. Collaborate with production, R&D, and other departments to resolve quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate records of all quality control activities, including test results, inspections, and compliance documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the FMCG sector. Thorough understanding of quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 9001) and food safety principles. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting various analytical tests. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
