Staff Attorney

Our client, an expanding organization with a significant multi-state presence is seeking a Senior Staff Attorney to provide strategic legal counsel and support executive leadership across a diverse portfolio of business operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor, managing complex legal matters, and partnering with leadership to drive organizational success and compliance. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary legal advisor to executive leadership and department heads. Provide guidance on corporate governance, compliance, employment matters, contracts, and organizational risk management. Lead and support litigation matters, including investigations, legal research, discovery, negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation. Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, agreements, and business transactions. Manage relationships with outside counsel and oversee legal expenditures and case strategy. Advise leadership on legal implications of strategic initiatives and operational decisions. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Review and develop company policies, procedures, and governance practices. Prepare reports and legal updates for executive leadership. Supervise and mentor legal department personnel. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active Bar admission in California strongly preferred. 6+ years of legal experience, preferably with a combination of corporate, nonprofit, employment, litigation, or regulatory law. Experience advising executive leadership and managing complex legal matters. Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills. Knowledge of corporate governance, compliance, and risk management. Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building abilities. Preferred Experience In-house counsel experience.
