Overview The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants to perform x‑ray services, evaluate patients, and support clinic operations at UCSF‑GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. Responsibilities Perform and analyze patient x‑rays and report results to Medical Providers. Perform x‑ray services under the direction of the clinical provider, applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment for patients of all age groups. Ensure patients are positioned correctly and protected during imaging; assist patients such as pushing them in wheelchairs when needed. Inform staff of patient flow and prepare patients for examination, including conducting interviews, verifying patient information, and recording medical history. Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and conduct point‑of‑care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) as required. Maintain medical records, scan charts to patient files, and perform daily equipment controls, calibration, QA/QC logs, and preventive maintenance. Collaborate with ordering/treating providers to determine appropriate procedures or views and support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly. Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answer their questions. Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results and capture clear, high‑quality diagnostic images by setting proper radiographic controls. Adhere to radiation safety protocols, implement ALARA, and maintain equipment and supplies. Document procedures accurately in electronic systems or logbooks and verify image quality, ensuring images are sent for interpretation. Qualifications High School Diploma required. Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program. Experience in a clinical setting preferred. Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at the time of hire. State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law).
