We foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic and population research. Position Summary
The Project Manager position is responsible for managing multiple epidemiological studies within the Department of Radiology's Epidemiology Research Team (ERT), with particular focus on lung cancer screening research. The Project Manager will work with the study team (principal investigator, co-investigators, data scientists, research assistants) and with the Associate Director for the ERT to ensure research aims are met. The Project Manager will also support the development of new grant proposals. Main responsibilities include: Project Management
- Preparing, submitting, and managing IRB applications and modifications
- Developing and implementing study timelines and activities
- Organizing study-related meetings (scheduling, drafting agendas, taking minutes)
- Coordinating data collection and analysis activities
- Ensuring compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements
- Planning, tracking, and monitoring budgets and subcontracts
- Coordinating and maintaining Data Use Agreements (DUAs) with participating sites and data vendors
- Assisting with NIH progress reports and grant applications
- Providing training and oversight to research assistants
- Supervising day-to-day research activities
- Communicating effectively with all stakeholders to manage expectations and develop strategies to meet study objectives
- Contributing to manuscripts and presentations
- Representing the research team at meetings and conferences
- Reporting results and findings to stakeholders
Master's or Bachelor's and 0-2 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- A minimum of one year of project management experience, preferably in an academic setting
- Knowledge of applied aspects of observational and clinical study design including research data management
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to travel to state or national meetings
- Previous experience managing large epidemiology studies with demonstrated ability coordinating grant funded projects
- Experience with a variety of data collection/management systems (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics) and electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Prior pre- and post-award grant management experience
- Proficiency with relevant research tools and software (e.g., PubMed, Endnote)
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc)
