Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Travel Nurse for an Open Heart Intensive Care Unit (OHICU) located in York, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients. The position requires advanced clinical skills, including invasive hemodynamic monitoring and management of complex cardiac devices, to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic ICU setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS and BLS certifications; Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience; Pennsylvania (PA) license is required; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; experience with arterial line management, bedside procedures, and ventilator management.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge nurse experience, patient ratio experience of 2, and trauma ICU experience are preferred.
• Float: May float to other ICU and medical-surgical floors if needed.
• Additional Information: Candidate must be able to care for COVID patients as needed, and the facility adheres to a tobacco and fragrance-free policy.
• Unit Details: The OHICU is a 10-bed unit caring for critically ill cardiac surgical and medical patients, including post-operative cardiac arrest, ECMO, VAD, IABP, and other complex cardiac procedures. Patient census averages 8.39 daily, with interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit emphasizes advanced cardiac and ventilator care and procedural expertise.
