Terms of Employment 180 days Status Non-Exempt Reports To Building Principal and Classroom Teacher Primary Function To assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and environment in order that students may learn effectively. Duties and Responsibilities Participates in classroom activity planning. Conducts learning exercises with small groups of children and individual students. Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children. Helps maintain individual records for each child. Assists teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas. Assists with the supervision of children during regular play periods and lunch supervision. Assists with daily living skills, may include toileting. Participate in specific training identified by administration. Follows individual behavior plans. Attends community based instructional activities. Completes annual employee training. Maintains consistent attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Environment Standard office and school conditions - moderate noise level in the work environment, adequate lighting, and comfortable temperatures. May have to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and inclement weather. Occasional high to moderate levels of stress.
