Maintenance Technician

This role is a multi-craft industrial maintenance position within a manufacturing and production environment. You will perform both mechanical and electrical repairs to minimize downtime on production equipment, carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance while following all safety protocols. You will work with a variety of hand and power tools to keep machinery operating efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on production equipment to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operations.
• Conduct reactive maintenance to quickly address equipment breakdowns and restore functionality.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on machinery and systems to reduce the likelihood of future failures.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify root causes of issues.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to repair, adjust, and maintain equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and precautions related to maintenance work, tools, and equipment.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential problems and take corrective action.
• Document maintenance activities as required, including repairs performed and parts used.
• Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing and production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Proficiency in performing repairs on a variety of industrial machinery.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Understanding of and adherence to maintenance-related safety protocols and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any education related to the maintenance industry is a plus.
• Any certifications related to industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or related fields are a bonus.
• Experience working in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility is beneficial.
• Familiarity with both day and night shift operations in a production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing and production facility, providing a comfortable and consistent work setting. The workplace operates as a non-union environment. There are multiple shift options available, including night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and a day shift that operates Monday through the week. You will work around industrial production equipment and use hand and power tools regularly while adhering to safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Vernon, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
