RSS Talent Partners is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company in Necedah, WI for a skilled Maintenance Automation Technician. This is a direct-hire, union position offering excellent pay, a consistent 4-day workweek, and the opportunity to support advanced automated production systems in a modern manufacturing environment.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Automation Technician will play a key role in maximizing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and keeping production running at peak performance. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex automation challenges, working with advanced controls, and supporting highly automated manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment
• Maintain PLC-controlled machinery and industrial control systems
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
• Work with sensors, drives, servo motors, and automation components
• Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
• Respond quickly to equipment failures and production interruptions
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance
• Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-minded technician with strong automation, electrical, and troubleshooting skills. This person can work independently, make sound technical decisions, and communicate effectively with production and maintenance team members.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED plus at least two years of maintenance experience, or
• Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, or a related field

Experience

• Experience troubleshooting electrical and automation systems
• Knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, and manufacturing equipment
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems
• Background in industrial maintenance, automation systems, PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, robotics, electrical maintenance, mechatronics, electro-mechanical repair, manufacturing equipment maintenance, reliability programs, or continuous improvement preferred
