Shift Details

This position is for a rotating shift schedule consisting of night and day shifts:

• Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

Shifts may be subject to change based on the operational needs of the facility; preferences will be taken into account where possible.

Position Description

This role is located at a main campus hospital in Cleveland, OH, specifically in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).

The candidate must possess:

• A minimum of 18 months combined permanent experience in the specialty being applied for, preferably within a single location, but combinations are acceptable.
• A minimum of 18 months of recent SICU experience; travel experience will be considered sufficient.
• A valid permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand during submission.

Required Certifications

• American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Holiday and Compliance Requirements

All employees must work at least every other holiday. Compliance requirements include:

• ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment to be completed during orientation; an acceptable score on both is mandatory.
• Negative 10 Panel + Nicotine (Cotinine) drug screen within the last 12 months, updated annually for those who are not exempt.
• Background checks will be reviewed, and any hits may impact eligibility.

Key Responsibilities

Travelers must perform all responsibilities required within the SICU, including but not limited to:

• Providing high-quality patient care in critical situations.
• Utilizing advanced medical equipment and technologies.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintaining patient documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.

Additional Information

Travel candidates who remain on continuous contracts for at least one year are required to complete an annual hands-on competency as mandated by facility policies. All pre-start modules will be billed for up to four hours annually, and any additional time will be non-billable.
