Registered Nurse RN Medical-Surgical Orthopedics & Neurology

*Employment Type:* Part time *Shift:* 12 Hour Day Shift *Description:* At *Saint Mary's Hospital*, our *Medical Surgical/Orthopedics & Neurology *Unit is a 27-bed unit specializing in the care of adult patients with stroke, orthopedic, and neuro-spine conditions. In addition to these specialties, nurses on this unit care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs, delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
This unit also utilizes a *Virtual Nurse, *the *Together Team Model*, as part of our care team. The Virtual RN brings a minimum of 7 years of experience and provides essential support to bedside staff, including assistance with admissions, discharges, patient education, purposeful rounding, and enhancing team communication.
*What You Will Do:*
* Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical needs.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Monitor patient progress, administer medications, and perform treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
* Educate patients and families on post-operative care, rehabilitation, and recovery processes.
* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
*Required:*
* Graduation from an accredited nursing school
* Valid RN License in Connecticut
*Preferred:*
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing
* The ideal candidate will have one or more years of medical-surgical or neuro/ortho in an acute inpatient setting.
* BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

* *This is an hourly position, included in the RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.*
