Cybersecurity Analyst

Box 300,Oyster Bay, NY, 11771,United States Base Pay $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 / Year Employee Type Exempt Required Degree 4 Year Degree Manage Others No Job Responsibilities: Monitors and analyzes security alerts, threats, vulnerabilities, access activity, and unusual system behavior across company systems and networks. Investigates security events and assesses their severity and potential business impact. Prioritizes findings and recommends remediation to IT leadership. Tests and evaluates security controls and verifies that remediation has been completed effectively. Escalates major risk, policy, legal, spending, and risk acceptance decisions to authorized leadership. Helps employees use company approved AI tools responsibly and securely in accordance with company policy, and assists with AI usage monitoring. Assists with server upgrades, systems testing, security changes, and infrastructure maintenance, which may require occasional scheduled evening or weekend work. Maintains security, configuration, asset, and technical documentation. Provides backup help desk support as needed. Job Requirements: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related field. 1 – 3 years’ related information technology or information security experience. Working knowledge of information security concepts, including common threats, vulnerabilities, phishing, malware, and access control. Familiarity with Windows server and desktop environments, networking fundamentals, Microsoft 365, Linux, and Active Directory. Familiarity with security monitoring, endpoint protection, web filtering, and firewall tools. Knowledge of Barracuda's line of security offerings is a plus. Familiarity with MDR (managed detection and response) and EDR (endpoint detection and response). Ability to analyze information, assess risk, prioritize findings, and recommend a course of action. Demonstrated analytic, written, and verbal communication skills. Reports to Department Manager Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday Pay: $80,000 - $105,000 annually Mill-Max Mfg.
