Description of the Position:

This role is ideal for a motivated, organized, and people-oriented student who is passionate about character and leadership development and wants to gain hands-on experience in program administration, event planning, research and communications. The Character in Community Student Fellow position works closely with the project's Director and Assistant Director to ensure a seamless experience for all participants across character and leadership programming. This position itself is a leadership experience the Fellow will grow in project management, professional communication, and organizational skills while playing a meaningful behind-the-scenes role in shaping the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with workshop, seminar, Learning Community, and signature event preparations
• Maintain calendars and send timely communications to students, mentors, and faculty as outlined by the Director and Assistant Director
• Help coordinate cross-track activities and large gatherings
• Support preparation of program materials, handouts, and presentation resources
• Help with record-keeping of student participation, milestones, and portfolio/project submissions
• Draft social media content
• Assist with designing promotional materials for programs
• Represent the Character in Community Project professionally at various events
• Assist at large-scale programs as needed
• Pursue research on program efficacy and improvements

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

• Must have at least two years of experience at St. Olaf College in a student organization, class leadership role, or other co-curricular spaces Must have an interest in student development of character and leadership.
• Expected to have effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to be an energetic, motivated student leader.
• Needs to be in good academic standing.
• Must value DEIAB practices to support our project efforts & be comfortable working with and uplifting people from diverse backgrounds and identities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Must not be found in violation of any St. Olaf policies.
• Proficient in Google Workspaces and Social Media platforms
