Shift Manager

Position Overview The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader is responsible for ensuring the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives and guest connections during the shift. Responsibilities Demonstrates mastery of the DOING of Team Member with ease, enthusiasm and excellence Lead shifts that focus on team engagement and guest satisfaction with an unwavering commitment to Make Fun Happen Think strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management Demonstrate a "total store vision" to take ownership of the look and feel of the store Be knowledgeable about the deployment for the day and the roles and responsibilities associated Consistently leverage effective communication on the floor during the shift See the needs of the team and guest and address situations before they become problematic Understand the multiple priorities of the shift and effectively communicate and delegate objectives and tasks Take ownership not only for the current shift, but also for the shift that follows Ensure the team is executing SOP and quality standards correctly and consistently Actively coach and give feedback to Team Members to ensure they bring their best DOING and BEING to their role Train team on role responsibilities, product knowledge and promotional items Perform administrative tasks with integrity and to completion, including bank deposits, inventory, store product orders and others as assigned Actively develop Team Members and engage in conversations about career and professional growth Behavioral Expectations Bring the Core Values to life: Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, Serve With Love Take ownership of impact on others and actively manage how you show up Demonstrate confidence and own decision‑making responsibility as Manager on Duty Remain resilient under pressure and maintain calm in critical moments Bring joyfulness to leading the team, serving guests and being a community member Seek to serve and create success for others Show enthusiasm and curiosity as a subject matter expert and help others grow Demonstrate humility and curiosity needed to lead a diverse group and show eagerness to learn Give powerful feedback and coach from commitment, not compliance Take ownership to make a positive impact on others Create an inclusive and inspiring culture on every shift with every team member Take full ownership of personal development and actively seek feedback and growth opportunities Qualifications Required: At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience, or be properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to take responsibility as a Shift Leader Ability to work at least one of: early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends Must be at least 18 years of age Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Physical Requirements The physical requirements for this position include hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand for 4 to 8 hours. These requirements may be accommodated with or without reasonable accommodations. Compensation $12.75 – $21.25 per hour. Starting pay is subject to local and state minimum wage regulations. Ranges reflect what the employer reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position.
