Instructional Assistant - Saint Francisville, IL

Job Description

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a dedicated classroom paraprofessional for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position offers the rewarding chance to make a meaningful impact working with both special education and general education students. There are two possible assignments available—one supporting a 3rd grade class and the other assisting in an 8th grade classroom—providing flexibility to match your experience and interests.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience as a classroom paraprofessional or teacher’s assistant
Knowledge of special education classroom routines and instructional support strategies
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and school staff
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging students at different developmental stages
Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach in dynamic classroom settings

Key Responsibilities:

Offer direct support to students in special education and inclusive classrooms, reinforcing lesson content and individual learning plans
Accompany students as they transition between special education and general education settings, ensuring continuity of support
Provide assistance during instructional activities, classroom routines, and small group work
Participate in lunchroom and bus duty, helping supervise students and maintain a safe, positive school environment
Foster an inclusive atmosphere where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally
