Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pain Management Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4 Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in the related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification via AHA required Must-Have: Experience in Pain Procedures, Pre Op, OR & PACU. Candidate must be willing to float. Weekend Requirement: yes On Call Requirement: yes Floating Requirement: yes Description: The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting. Demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to manage long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocol to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care.
