Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Radiology/Cardiology is responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience and certification in ARRT, BLS, and CNMT. The technologist will participate in rotational on-call duties, collaborate with clinical teams, and ensure quality patient care in an acute care hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in radiology and cardiology departments.
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to safety protocols.
Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment and ensure quality control.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to provide accurate diagnostic information.
Document procedures and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system.
Participate in rotational on-call coverage including weekdays and weekends.
May be required to float to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience.
Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) credential.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Ability to work effectively in an acute care hospital setting.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience working with Epic electronic medical record system.
Familiarity with acute care hospital protocols and procedures.

Special Considerations:

Rotational on-call required: weekdays 5pm-6am and weekends 8am-7am.
Weekend staffing includes one technologist in the morning shift.
May be required to float to another hospital location as needed.
Free parking available.

Scheduling:

Rotational shifts including weekday evenings and overnight hours.
Weekend coverage required with morning shifts staffed.
Shift assignments determined by departmental schedule and call rotation.
