Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) / Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg)
Shift: Nights (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM)
Schedule: 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ER/Med-Surg Registered Nurse to join a Critical Access Hospital for a 13-week travel assignment. This role requires a flexible nurse who is comfortable caring for patients across multiple units, including the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical floor.

As a member of a small rural healthcare team, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating closely with nurses, LPNs, CNAs, and on-call crisis staff.

Typical Unit Environment

• Average inpatient census: 3–5 patients (occasionally up to 7–8)
• Typical staffing:
  • 3 Nurses + 1 CNA per shift
  • Occasionally 2 Nurses + 1 CNA
  • May include 1 RN and 1 LPN working together
• Patient assignments are shared among staff.
• ER responsibilities are typically shared across the nursing team.
• Dedicated Crisis Nurse On-Call available every night for additional support.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• Recent experience in both Emergency Room and Med-Surg
  • Both specialties must be listed on the work history at the time of submission
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• TNCC (Required)
• NRP (AHA) preferred
  • Must already have certification or provide proof of a scheduled class before submission
• Experience working in a Critical Access or rural hospital is preferred.
