Accounts Payable Technician-I

The Accounts Payable Technician-I is responsible for processing payments for all county and institutional expenses for the college. Prepare and post monthly journal entries to the general ledger. Provide essential backup to the Accounts Payable Technician-II and Accounts Payable Supervisor. Assist other Accounting Office staff members to meet departmental goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Input county and institutional check vouchers into financial database. Post checks to the general ledger and print checks. Monitor general ledger cash balances for current and capital in county and institutional funds; assist in prioritizing payment. File checks and review all records for proper documentation and signatures. Review and process all monthly utility bills. Receive incoming mail, open, sort, and distribute daily. Prepare all monthly bank interest journal entries and cafeteria transfer journal entries. Prepare monthly payment to State Budget Management for parking fees collected. Prepare monthly state certification journal entries. Prepare monthly check request to reimburse state from county for President's medical premium. Prepares miscellaneous accounting office journal entries and check requests other than those listed above on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Verify, approve and submit IMS flexible spending account reimbursement requests. Demonstrate, through verbal interaction and behavior on the job, an understanding that it is the individual employee's responsibility to relate effectively to the leadership and administrative style of the immediate supervisor. Perform job-related tasks, duties, and assignments consistently at an acceptable level, as determined by the immediate supervisor. Salary: $2,650.00 per month. Standard Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Start Date: October 1, 2026 Closing Date: September 20, 2026, or open until filled.

High school diploma/ GED required. Associate degree in Accounting preferred or two years of accounting/ accounts payable work experience.
