A respected regional healthcare system is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for an Occupational Medicine locum tenens opportunity in Central Wisconsin. This assignment offers a predictable weekday schedule, manageable patient volume, strong clinical support, and travel assistance for qualified providers.

Practice Setting

This outpatient Occupational Medicine clinic provides care for correctional officers, healthcare employees, and other workforce populations. Providers focus on workplace health, injury management, regulatory examinations, and return-to-work evaluations in a supportive team environment.

Clinical Responsibilities

Perform DOT physical examinations
Conduct pre-employment and fitness-for-duty evaluations
Manage workers' compensation cases
Evaluate and treat occupational injuries
Perform minor procedures, including simple laceration repair and suturing
Manage musculoskeletal injuries
Complete FMCSA digital documentation requirements
Document patient encounters using EPIC

Schedule

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM at a secondary clinic location
30-minute lunch break daily
Approximately 40 hours per week

Patient Volume & Support

Average 14-16 patients per day
Two CMAs available for clinical support
Front desk registration staff onsite
Access to Medical Director collaboration when needed
Strong NP and PA collaborative environment

Qualifications Required

Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner (FNP or Adult NP)
Active DEA registration
DOT Medical Examiner Certification
Minimum 1 year of Occupational Medicine experience
Experience performing:
- DOT physicals
- Pre-employment examinations
- Workers' compensation evaluations
- Musculoskeletal injury management
- Minor suturing procedures
Active Wisconsin license or willingness to obtain licensure

Preferred

Experience with EPIC
Occupational health or employee health background
Multi-state licensure

Travel Information

Travel assistance is available for qualified providers, including:

Lodging accommodations
Flight or rental vehicle arrangements
Fuel reimbursement for personal vehicle travel

Licensure assistance may also be available for candidates willing to obtain Wisconsin licensure.

Start Date: November 2026
Assignment Length: Approximately 5 Months
Coverage Needed Through: March 2027
