Job Description

Empower students and make a real impact as a contract Special Education Teacher, supporting elementary and high school learners near Buda, TX. This role is ideal for compassionate, dynamic educators who thrive on fostering independence and growth in students with diverse abilities, including those in Life Skills programs.

Key Qualifications:

Valid teaching certification in Special Education
Experience working in elementary and/or high school settings
Background supporting students in Life Skills or functional academic programs
Collaborative approach with colleagues, families, and support staff
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Dedication to differentiated instruction and cultivating a positive, inclusive classroom

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
Deliver instruction in academic, social, and life skills using engaging, evidence-based strategies
Foster an encouraging and respectful classroom environment
Partner with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure student success across settings
Track student progress and document results, adapting instruction when necessary
Communicate regularly with families to celebrate progress and address concerns
