The Maintenance Technician works on a wide range of technical and operational projects within a manufacturing environment, ensuring the reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role requires strong maintenance expertise, clear written and verbal communication, logical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The technician completes assigned work to a high standard, follows all safety rules, actively participates in safety programs, and proactively identifies and addresses potential issues before they impact production.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment, including gear reducers, conveyor systems, precision bearings, and production machines by following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for irregularities, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Locate sources of mechanical and equipment problems and determine appropriate corrective actions to restore safe and efficient operation.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools in a safe and controlled manner.
- Inspect and measure used parts with rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to determine dimensional changes and replacement needs.
- Control equipment downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance with these practices.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools, instrumentation, and equipment when needed to support maintenance activities.
- Use maintenance equipment and supplies efficiently to conserve resources while achieving required job results.
- Respond to mechanical maintenance questions and requests, providing clear information and technical guidance to colleagues and other departments.
- Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, information, and trends related to equipment performance and repairs.
- Maintain and expand technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and staying current with industry best practices.
- Document and communicate maintenance actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure continuity among work teams and effective shift handoffs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations and by following all Safety Rules.
- Actively participate in monthly 100% Safety Participation Programs and contribute to a strong safety culture.
- Apply understanding of vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and precision alignment to diagnose and prevent equipment issues.
- Apply thorough knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain related systems.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to shared goals and supporting related tasks and projects as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support maintenance and production operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of related industrial maintenance experience, or an associate degree plus 3 years of related industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong skills in pneumatic, hydraulic, and drive systems within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing AC and DC drives, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
- Proficiency using Allen Bradley PLC software for troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
- Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Understanding of vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and precision alignment techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and interaction with team members and production staff.
- Ability to schedule and coordinate small projects and provide leadership to small teams when needed.
- Capability to work effectively in a self-directed workforce environment with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
- Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays as needed to support production demands.
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing production environment.
- Comfort using hoists, cranes, and a variety of hand and power tools for equipment disassembly and repair.
- Ability to fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Experience preparing maintenance reports and summarizing equipment performance trends.
- Strong attention to detail in following diagrams, sketches, manuals, and engineering specifications.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety programs and safe work practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering.

Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a production environment with a focus on maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. You work with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC drives, PLCs, and industrial controls, frequently using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine shop equipment. The position requires adherence to established safety procedures, rules, and regulations, participation in formal safety programs, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Work hours may include weekends and holidays as needed to support production schedules.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Corona, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
