Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator, Networking

Location : Ireland, US (Pittsburgh or Boston) or Toronto, Canada More about the role & team This is a senior, hands‑on networking role where you’ll own enterprise infrastructure end‑to‑end — from initial design through implementation and into steady‑state operations. You’ll work closely with infrastructure and business stakeholders to deliver complex network solutions that are scalable, secure and fully embedded into ongoing support. The position aims to strengthen internal expertise and reduce reliance on external vendors, placing you at the center of critical infrastructure transformation initiatives. You’ll act as a true Subject Matter Expert and technical escalation point, leading troubleshooting, optimizing performance, and driving continuous improvement across the network estate. Beyond delivery, you’ll enable the wider team through knowledge transfer, documentation and best practices. The role is suited for a senior network engineer who enjoys building and owning solutions, influences standards, and drives change across large‑scale, multi‑site infrastructure. Why should you apply? Essential Requirements 8+ years’ experience in enterprise IT infrastructure or networking roles Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco technologies (Firepower, ISE, SD‑WAN – Viptela/Catalyst) Deep knowledge of network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing) Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) across multi‑site environments Proven experience designing, implementing, and transitioning solutions into production Strong troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and incident resolution Experience maintaining infrastructure health (patching, upgrades, configurations) Desirable Requirements Experience in SaaS or cloud‑based environments Exposure to virtualized infrastructure (e.g., VMware) Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms (e.g., NetApp) Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible) Cisco certifications (CCNP or CCIE) What do we offer?
