JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director the Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager assists with the day-to-day management and operations of the Human Resources Department. This position supports a variety of HR functions, including recruitment and hiring, employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, compensation, employee records, training and development, and compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.

The HR Manager also assists the Director of Human Resources with the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures and provides guidance to leaders and employees regarding HR-related matters.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, or a related field required. Must have at least three years of progressively more responsible experience in all phases of personnel administration, with managerial experience a plus. Must also be familiar with current laws and regulations regarding employers and employees' rights and privileges and possess the ability to implement, audit, and identify processes to ensure organizational compliance with said laws and regulations. Must possess the ability to mediate employee/employer issues and be able to reconcile differences within the confines of regulations, laws, and current personnel policies and procedures.

• Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).


• Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.


• Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.


GENERAL SKILLS:

• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.


• Additional languages preferred.


• Strong written and verbal skills.

• Basic Computer Skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.


• May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.


• May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.


• May be required to change from one task to another or different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.


• Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.


• May be scheduled as needed including overtime.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS:

• Have near normal hearing: Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice.


• Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.


• Have good manual dexterity.


• Have good eye-hand foot coordination.


• Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.


• Continuously within shift (67-100%): Standing, Walking.


• Frequently within shift (34-66%): Bending/Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Lift/carry up to 20lbs, Lift/carry greater than 20 lbs. with assistance.


• Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry greater than 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

This job requires that you use your communication and organization skills to organize and conduct recruiting and employee testing programs: collect ongoing data regarding employee satisfaction; manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for identified organizational staffing needs; conduct and/or oversee new employee orientation and other training and educational programs; manage and keep compensation and benefit packages up-to-date; maintain employees' personnel file; conduct exit interviews' receive employee complaints and assist the Director with resolution of them; maintain compliance with all new hire data collection and reporting requirements; maintain compliance with all state and federal employment law practices; assist the Director with compliance activities regarding Employee Health and Safety and leave administration policies provides back-up Human Resources department with direction in the absence and/or at the delegation of the HR Director.
