Three 12 hour shifts per week - 7a-7p some weekends required Job Summary Make a Life Saving Impact - Join UT Southwestern’s Rapid Response Team (RRT)! Join UT Southwestern as a critical care nurse to bring advanced expertise to bedside emergencies. This team responds when seconds matter most, improving patient safety and outcomes hospital-wide. Responsibilities Provide immediate expert intervention for patients showing signs of clinical deterioration. Act as a trusted resource for frontline staff across the hospital. Serve as a vital role in improving patient safety and outcomes hospital-wide. Job Duties Performs and documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments considering age-specific criteria. Initiates appropriate nursing interventions and documents them accurately and timely. Co‑ordinates interdisciplinary plan of care, communicates with team members and family members. Prioritises nursing interventions, identifies changes in condition, reports and follows up. Evaluates implemented interventions, modifies care as needed. Adheres to hospital policies, national standards, ANA standards, and the Professional Practice Model “Relationship Based Care.” Provides education, documentation and feedback to patients and families; ensures understanding. Orients patients, families, and caregivers; reviews plan of care and updates boards each shift. May perform any core functions outlined in the job: direct patient care, interaction with research participants, or maintaining/modifying patient records. Performs other duties as assigned. Duties Three 12 hour shifts per week, including weekends. Work a minimum of one shift every two weeks in a critical care setting. Three years ICU experience or strong Emergency Department experience preferred; BSN preferred. Current Texas or BNE Compact State license. Certification: BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accredited) and PALS and NIHSS required.
