Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

Project ManagerHazen and Sawyer is seeking a qualified Project Manager with 10+ years of experience in planning, designing, permitting and construction of drinking water and wastewater-related projects. The position will lead to an increasing level of client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by our regional offices and firm-wide technical resources.Why Hazen and Sawyer:Founded in 1951 by the son of Allen Hazen (developer of the Hazen-Williams equation), we are an employee-owned company with a singular focus on "all things water."Our work includes planning, design, and oversight of construction of environmental infrastructure – for water, wastewater, and stormwater management.We foster a work environment low on bureaucracy and high in creativity.We recruit talented professionals, provide them with challenging, interesting, and creative assignments, and furnish them with the tools they need to succeed.We currently have over 2,000 employees in 70+ offices throughout the United States, Latin America, Canada, and the UK.Key Responsibilities:Project managementSupervising junior staffLead business development activities including preparation of proposals and presentationsHigh level of client development and management in our Pensacola, FL officePreparation of assessment and design reportsPerforming design calculationsEquipment sizing/selectionPreparation of construction documents, and support needs for construction management/commissioningThe primary focus will be projects in Florida and Southern AlabamaFieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travelRequired Qualifications:10 – 15 years of experience in the water/wastewater fieldExperience managing interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client's needsExperience in successfully delivering projects with collaborative, multi-disciplinary teamsExperience in planning, design, and construction for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilitiesProject management experienceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agenciesSelf-starter with attention to detailStrong organizational skillsProficiency in all MS Office based computer softwarePE license is required (FL preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment)B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical EngineeringPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree (Master's) of Science or Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program (other engineering degrees considered case by case)
