Position Details

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:00)

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

About the Role

This position involves working in a facility that supports a high-risk OB department and serves a culturally diverse population. RNs are required to circulate during cesarean sections and provide comprehensive postpartum care.

Responsibilities

• Administer various types of care related to postpartum and newborn care
• Float to different units within the scope of practice as needed
• Participate in labor and delivery support with a focus on high-risk deliveries
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and patient care standards

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing role
• Active California state nursing license (compact license accepted)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Academy of Women's Health, Obstetrical Nursing, and Newborn (AWHONN) Intermediate certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Demonstrated experience with electronic health record systems, specifically Epic

Skills Required

• Administration of blood products and medications as necessary
• Support for breastfeeding and maternal education
• Competency in performing assessments and managing high-risk obstetrical situations
• Ability to assist with cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Experience in maternal and newborn care, including recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Unit Information

Daily Census: 15-20 patients

Rooms/Beds: 11/15

Interdisciplinary Support: Includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams

Additional Information

This position includes a requirement to float between sister facilities when necessary. Candidates may be expected to commit to working three holidays within the contract period. Relevant references covering at least one year of experience are required during the hiring process.
