Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Inpatient Medical Unit (IMU) care is needed in San Diego, California. This position involves floating between multiple locations within the hospital based on census and operational needs. Candidates must bring their active California nursing license on the first day of assignment. The role requires a minimum of two years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit, and adherence to vaccination requirements including COVID-19 and Flu vaccines.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a 4-week schedule sent two weeks in advance. No blocked or self-scheduling; shifts confirmed via phone call 2 hours prior.
• Required Qualifications: Valid California nursing license upon submission. Candidates must have at least 2 years of Progressive Care Unit experience, with experience in inpatient Medical Units, IV starts, Telemetry, Phlebotomy, and A-line procedures. Certifications required: Chemo Certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital settings, LTAC, trauma levels I and II, and travel experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required within the hospital and nearby affiliate facilities depending on census and unit needs.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have valid active California licensure, and provide two manager references. It is essential to adhere to the Return Staff Policy requiring at least one year since last assignment to return as a traveler. Up to 8 hours of non-billable modules are included in the 12-hour shift, completed during orientation and annually. Vaccination compliance is mandatory, including COVID-19 (with booster) and Flu vaccines, with exemptions limited to medical or religious reasons.
