The Sisters of St. Francis are seeking a dependable, skilled, and service-oriented individual to join our Maintenance team . This position plays an important role in keeping our campus buildings, equipment, and grounds safe, functional, and welcoming for the Sisters, residents, staff, and guests who live, work, and visit here.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable moving between building maintenance, equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, grounds work, and seasonal needs.

What You'll Do

As a member of our Maintenance team, you will:

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other routine facility needs .
• Use basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire alarm systems to identify concerns, complete routine maintenance, and assist with repairs.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and furnishings.
• Maintain and repair medical assistive equipment, including wheelchairs, walkers, bedrails, beds, and related equipment .
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of the nurse call system .
• Perform grounds work, including mowing, trimming, pruning, gardening, and other seasonal outdoor work.
• Participate in snow and ice removal to help maintain safe sidewalks, roadways, entrances, and campus areas.
• Read, interpret, and complete work orders, task lists, and preventative maintenance assignments.
• Accurately document time, equipment, materials, and inventory used on work orders.
• Assist with campus projects, repairs, room set-ups, moves, and other facility needs.
• Participate in the year-round maintenance on-call rotation and respond in a timely manner when called.
• Work collaboratively with the Maintenance team and other departments to support the needs of the campus.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who brings a practical, hands-on approach to maintenance work along with a willingness to learn and be part of a team.

Qualified candidates should have:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A valid driver's license.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire alarm systems, carpentry, painting, general maintenance, and groundskeeping.
• Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to follow work orders, preventative maintenance schedules, task lists, and instructions.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when an issue requires additional technical expertise or supervisor involvement.
• Ability and willingness to participate in the year-round on-call rotation.
• Willingness to learn, follow procedures, and support team goals.
• A respectful, courteous, and service-oriented approach when working with Sisters, residents, staff, and guests.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that includes regular bending, stooping, climbing, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist , lift up to 30 pounds from waist to shoulder , and push or pull up to 35 pounds . Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
