Job Opportunities at Texas State University Nontenure Faculty Pool - School of Family & Consumer Sciences Position Title: Nontenure Faculty Pool - School of Family & Consumer Sciences Job Posting Number: 2026035NTL Job Location: San Marcos and Round Rock campuses or online, depending on departmental needs College/Division: College of Applied Arts Department/School: School of Family & Consumer Sciences Position Description The School of Family & Consumer Sciences seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach courses in Consumer Affairs, Family & Consumer Sciences, Fashion Merchandising, Human Development and Family Sciences, Interior Design, and Nutrition. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Eligibility for annual re‑appointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, along with continuity of funding and departmental need. Successful candidates may teach on the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises. This posting is for the fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2025/2026 semesters. Required Qualifications Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience is preferred.
