Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Danville, IL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | 12-hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Medical Telemetry unit serving patients with diagnoses including CHF, heart failure, diabetes, and end-of-life conditions
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 on day shifts, working alongside patient care technicians and a 24/7 charge nurse
• Monitor telemetry using Space Lab brand monitors; a dedicated telemetry monitor technician is available 24/7, though nurses are expected to actively watch monitors
• Administer set-rate drips as needed; titration of drips is not required on this unit
• Float as needed to a Medical Surgical unit and occasionally to the ICU for general overflow patients
• Adhere to a drug-free campus policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels prior to placement

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard traveler rates; candidates within 50 miles may be subject to a local rate adjustment
• Must comply with a drug-free campus policy and produce a negative drug screen prior to starting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient populations
• Experience caring for CHF, heart failure, diabetic, and end-of-life patient populations
