Postdoctoral Fellow Research - Neuro-Immune Mechanisms

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Pedram Hamrah, in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida. The lab focuses on corneal immunology, neuroscience, and intravital imaging, with special emphasis on neuro‑immune crosstalk in the cornea. Job Details In‑office role (Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) Grant‑funded position Responsibilities Study molecular mechanisms by which corneal leukocytes regulate the peripheral and central nervous system. Investigate neuronal regulation of corneal immune privilege, inflammation, and homeostasis. Independently develop protocols and establish new methodologies in the laboratory. Write and present new discoveries. Additional responsibilities as needed. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in immunology and/or neuroscience and molecular and cellular biology. Extensive experience with cell culture, immunological assays, electrophysiology, and contemporary imaging techniques. Strong publication record. Benefits Medical, dental, and life insurance plans.
